How much do you factor a potential partner's 'readiness' (e.g., emotional availability, not fresh out of a breakup) into your interest?

It's a huge factor. I'm looking for someone on a similar wavelength, ready for genuine connection, not a fixer-upper.
I tend to fall for potential, or the 'wounded bird' type, hoping they'll 'get there' eventually with my help.
I notice it, but if the chemistry is strong, I might overlook some yellow flags. Maybe this time will be different?
My own readiness is my main focus. Theirs is their journey, though I prefer someone who knows what they want.
