How photos build our childhood
Most human beings suffer from infantile amnesia, meaning we have almost no genuine memories before the age of three. The memories we believe we have of being a toddler are actually reconstructed narratives based almost entirely on cherished family photographs. Without these visual aids, those earliest years would be permanently erased from our conscious minds.
