Despite popular belief, true photographic memory where a person remembers the past exactly like a photograph does not actually exist in adults. Human memory is completely reconstructive, piecing together fragments of emotion and fact. That is exactly why physical, cherished photos are so critical: our organic brains literally cannot do what a camera does.
