The ginkgo tree has existed for 200 million years.
Native to China, the ginkgo biloba is often called a 'living fossil' because it has remained virtually unchanged for hundreds of millions of years, surviving multiple ice ages. Some ancient ginkgo trees in China are over 1,500 years old.
