Children in poverty often face housing instability, moving frequently, living in crowded conditions, or even experiencing homelessness. This lack of a stable, safe environment can disrupt schooling, friendships, and a child's sense of security. Exposure to environmental hazards like lead paint or mold is also much higher in low-income housing.
