Costume designer Lizzy Gardiner accepted her 1995 Oscar in a gown made from 254 expired American Express Gold cards. The stunt was originally intended for a film, but the credit card company declined. Undeterred, Gardiner wore the bizarre and brilliant creation herself, securing a spot in fashion infamy.
