The 'Arabic' Numerals Misnomer: An Indian Ingenuity

The numerical system we use daily (0, 1, 2, 3...) is often called 'Arabic numerals.' However, this elegant system, including positional notation and the crucial concept of zero as a number, originated in India around the 7th century AD and was later transmitted to the Western world via Arab mathematicians and scholars.
