Size is all about perspective.

Two equal horizontal lines sit between converging lines like train tracks. The top one looks longer. It’s not. Your brain just can’t help itself. Why it works: The converging lines suggest depth, so your brain interprets the upper line as farther away, making it appear bigger to compensate.
