In 2006, Katrina Burgess was 17 years olf when she was told she might never walk again or die after a car accident left her with a broken neck and multiple injuries. Surgeons at Musgrove Park Hospital inserted 11 metal rods, pins, and screws to stabilize her spine. Against the odds, she recovered remarkably — within five months she was walking without painkillers and later signed by a modeling agency.
