In 1823, frontiersman Hugh Glass was brutally attacked by a grizzly bear, leaving him with a broken leg, ripped scalp, and exposed ribs. His companions, believing he would die, left him behind. Glass defied all odds, setting his own leg and crawling over 200 miles to the nearest fort over a grueling six-week period.
