In 1971, 17-year-old Juliane Koepcke fell two miles from the sky strapped to her seat after her plane disintegrated over the Peruvian rainforest. As the only survivor, she endured a broken collarbone and other injuries, then trekked for 11 days through the dense jungle. She followed a creek until she found a small logging camp and was rescued.
