The Ghost Boy's Awakening

At age 12, Martin Pistorius fell into a mysterious coma, eventually entering what doctors believed was a vegetative state. In reality, he regained full consciousness after a few years but suffered from total locked-in syndrome, unable to move or communicate. After more than a decade of silent awareness, a therapist noticed a flicker of recognition, and he slowly learned to communicate again via computer.
